Automatically add to Collection?
I use the Collections column to sync and organize books with Kobo.

Is there a way to automatically have downloaded news articles tagged or added to the News Collection?

All downloaded news sources automatically have the news tag added to them. You can specify further tags to be added via the advanced tab when scheduling the news source for download in the fetch news dialog.

Right, but how does calibre differentiate between a tag and and a Collection? The News tag is there but how does it get into the News Collection?

Coolections are collections on the device, tags are things in the calibre library. Different device drivers have different ways of creating collections on the device. I dont use Kobo devices so I dont recall the details of how this happens there, someone that does might be able to enlighten you.
