Is there a way to rename this?

When I right-click on a cover and choose to open it:

Click image for larger version

Name:	2020-10-18 01_32_43-Edit the applications for COVER_IMAGE files.png
Views:	183
Size:	15.6 KB
ID:	182854

Is there any way to rename it to just "Honeyview"? I tried editing the string in the Windows MUICache but that didn't do it.

I found a windows_open_with.json but I was a little nervous that editing it might cause issues because, well:

Click image for larger version

Name:	2020-10-18 01_40_09-D__AppData_calibre_windows_open_with.json - Notepad++.png
Views:	167
Size:	129.3 KB

Well, just merely opening that latter file with Notepad++ (not even saving it) caused Calibre to throw some bytearray string encoding error when I reopened it. So I carefully removed the icon_data stuff from the json and changed the name of Honeyview and it works.

I suspect that descriptor originates from the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Honeyview\Capabilities->ApplicationDescription

And was put there by Bandisoft's Honeyview installer, might get clobbered if you install a new version

Try editing the registry, and then remove and re-add the calibre Open With item for Honeyview.

I found that renaming the program in windows_open_with.json worked. I'll see if it changes whenever Honeyview updates.

It also turned out the garbled icon_data problem I had was due to one line of code so hopefully that won't break anymore.
